Components of a belt conveyor

In the process of conveying materials, the belt is the carrier of the material conveyed by the belt conveyor, so the belt is of course an important part of the belt conveyor equipment. However, in addition to the belt, the normal operation of the belt conveyor also requires the joint promotion of other components. The six major components of the belt conveyor are: conveyor belt, supporting roller, driving device, braking device, tensioning device and redirecting device.
The various components of the belt conveyor
Conveyor belt: used to transmit traction and hold the goods to be transported, generally using rubber belts or plastic belts;
Support roller: support the conveyor belt and the materials on the belt, reduce the sag of the conveyor belt, and make the conveyor belt run stably;
Driving device: The driving device of the belt conveyor generally includes a motor, a coupling or a hydraulic coupling, a reducer, a transmission roller, etc., and a conveyor with an inclined section also needs to be equipped with a brake or a backstop according to requirements.
Braking device: In the case of heavy load shutdown, in order to avoid the reverse movement of the conveyor belt inclined upward under the action of the weight of the transported material, resulting in reverse reverse flow, a braking device should be installed at the driving device according to the specific situation. . Common ones are roller backstops, belt backstops, pad brakes, etc.
Tensioning device: The function of the tensioning device is to maintain the necessary initial tension of the conveyor belt to avoid slippage on the drive drum and to ensure the appropriate sag of the conveyor belt between the two idlers. There are three types of tensioning devices: fixed type, heavy hammer type and automatic type.
Reversing device: generally located at the tail of the belt conveyor, through the transformation of different angles, to reduce the transportation pressure of the belt.
The six main components of the belt conveyor cooperate with each other to jointly promote the normal operation of the equipment. No matter which link fails, it will affect the normal operation of the equipment. The maintenance of each component should be done well in daily use.
